How To Clean A Wok

If you had your carbon steel wok stored away somewhere or used it several times and it is dirty now the best way to clean it would be the following.
How to clean a wok. Do not use any soaps or detergents as it can really mess with the non-stick coating you have built up during use. Use a sponge and hot soapy water to scrub the wok. Place it back on the stove over a low heat for a minute or two and make sure that all of the water has evaporated off the pan.
Woks cool very quickly and can be cleaned while still a bit warm but make sure its no longer screaming hot before washing. Wash with a Sponge. Taking care not to burn yourself turn the wok so that all of it is exposed to the high heat.
Use a regular kitchen sponge to scrub the dirty surface generously but not too harshly. Once you have finished you can remove it from the water rinse with clean hot tap water and then place it on your stove. Rinse the wok until all food particles are removed.
Dry the interior and exterior of the wok with paper towels. Fill your sink full of hot soapy water and place the wok into it then gently scrub the entire surface with your wok scrubber taking time to ensure you have covered all areas. It is baking soda.
If the food is really stuck on the wok soak the wok in hot water for five minutes and then try to remove the food. You can also use steel wool for particularly difficult-to-remove rust or food if necessary. Gently lift off or scrub away food particles with a nonmetallic scrubber.
Fill with room temperature water and then add baking soda. Rinse the wok and dry it with a clean cloth. Some cooks like to oil their woks after each use.
